Additives: what they are and why you should care about them
The year on the label does matter to some extent, but far less than the vintage tables suggest. A brief guide to interpreting it with common sense.
Guided tastings, monthly selections and personalised guidance to help you discover wine in a relaxed atmosphere. Based in Barcelona, for the curious and wine enthusiasts.
For years I have been visiting small and medium-sized wineries, talking to those who work the vineyards and tasting far more than I ultimately end up recommending. The result is a small, honest selection: wines that tell a story about the place where they are made and that hold their own in the glass.
My job is to translate all that into something useful for the person holding the bottle. No stuffy tastings or obscure jargon: just context, comparisons and guidance, so that everyone can find what they like and understand why.
Sessions for beginners or those wishing to deepen their knowledge, in small groups or one-to-one. You taste, compare and understand: each glass, side by side with the previous one, explains more than any technical description ever could.
Every month, a selection of six wines chosen by region, producer and grape variety, with tasting notes and pairing suggestions to help you make the most of them at home.
Corporate gifts, celebrations or the wine list at a small restaurant. A selection tailored to the budget, the occasion and the people who will be drinking it.
A small-group tasting, a selection for a gift, or a quick chat before opening a bottle. Just let me know what you need and we’ll sort it out.
What do you usually drink, what have you liked and what haven’t you liked, how many people are there, and what’s your budget? Without that conversation, any recommendation is just a shot in the dark.
I propose a short, carefully considered list, featuring options across different price ranges and a note explaining why each bottle has been included in the selection.
We sit down, open the bottles and compare them. When we’ve finished, you’ll take your notes home with you and, above all, develop your own judgement for the next time you buy wine.

Beyond Verdejo and Albariño, there are plenty of white grape varieties that can really take you by surprise. These six are easy to find and hard to forget.

You don’t need expensive glasses or technical jargon. With two bottles, a bit of organisation and a little attention, you’ll learn more than you would from reading ten tasting notes.
Drop me a line and I’ll get back to you with a specific proposal: date, format and quote. No obligation.
